Culture of Death explored death practises across cultures through personal stories and introspection. It was an exhibition of four audio installations by Navin Sam Regi, Aleea Monsour and Anna Whitaker.
Three doorways representing a metaphor about the framework offered by bereavement ceremonies, shaped a path through a space covered in dead leaves. Each doorway posed a question which found an answer in the responses offered by the many participants who shared their unique experience and culture. Finally, a yellow telephone played the angelic music by the Brisbane Threshold Choir, a choir that performs at the bedside of dying people.
